International Air Transport Association - IATA

The International Air Transport Association was established as an umbrella association in Havana, Cuba in April 1945. It is the successor organisation to the International Air Traffic Association established in The Hague on 28 August 1919. Its headquarters are in Montreal, Canada. The aim of IATA is to “represent and serve the air transport industry”.

International Civil Aviation Organisation - ICAO

The International Civil Aviation Organisation was established by the Convention on International Civil Aviation of 7 December 1944 (the Chicago Convention) and has its headquarters in Montreal (Canada). With the entry of South Sudan on 10 November 2011, it currently has 191 signatory states (as at the end of 2011). Following an agreement that came into force on 13 May 1947, ICAO has the status of a special organisation within the United Nations.

European Civil Aviation Conference - ECAC

The European Civil Aviation Conference, French: Conférence Européenne de l'Aviation Civile (CEAC), with its headquarters in Neuilly-sur-Seine, just outside the city boundaries of Paris, was esablished in 1955 with the aim of making air travel in Europe safer and of harmonising the respective legislation of the member states.

Transport Security Administration - TSA

The Transport Security Administration is an American federal agency within the area of activity of the Department of Homeland Security with its headquarters in Pentagon City, Arlington County, Virginia, and serves public security in transport. It was created as part of the Aviation and Transportation Security Act 2001 and approved by 107th US Congress.
